Industry G. Cuomo is an italian dairy company whose tradition dates back to 1910. It is a family-owned business and grounds its roots in the Sorrento Peninsula. Although, the Cuomo family was mastering the art of cheesemaking already in 1850, it was Giovanni, Giuseppe’s son, who gave this tradition the needed impetus to start a flourishing business in the dairy sector. In 1945 Giovanni decided to set up his mozzarella production facility in Lazio, in the Agro Pontino area, dealing personally with producing and delivering the mozzarella. Today the company is still headed by Giovanni’s children, supported by his grandchildren, who safeguard the old family recipe with devotion. Cuomo produces mozzarella in the various shapes: fiordilatte, bocconcini, trecce, ciliegine, and for the most varied uses: delicatessen, self-service, pizzerias, restaurants. Caciocavalli, ricotta and scamorze are hand made. The milk for the production of the Cuomo cheeses comes from 50 local qualified stables. The production cycle is followed by 50 workers and takes the environmental impact into great consideration. Cuomo is engaged in daily quality control and management in order to obtain a product that is increasingly improved and safe, sharing its objectives and quality criteria with all of its suppliers, applying a strict control and verification system across the entire chain. Every day Cuomo commit themselves to offering consumer genuine products that are characteristic of the company’s tradition, the most ancient in the Agro Pontino area.
